Fan theories were actually a big part of

Pretty Little Liars. Oh yeah.

There were definitely a few people

who figured out exactly our ending.

Which is crazy. Wow.

I remember Marlene being like,

Uh, we need to go back to the writers' room,

I just read something, and uh...

[upbeat music]

Hey, I'm Eli Brown, I play Dylan Walker.

Hey guys, I'm Sofia Carson, I play Ava Jalali.

Hi, I'm Sydney Park, and I play Caitlin Park-Lewis.

Hi, I'm Janel Parrish and I play Mona Vanderwaal.

Hi, I'm Sasha Pieterse, and I play Alison DiLaurentis.

And we're the cast

of Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists.

And this is fan theories with Vanity Fair.

So the first fan theory.

Mm-hmm.

Is from Tumblr user The Marina Alexis.

She has a theory on who will be the first person

to die, and how they're killed.

What if Ava, Caitlin and Dylan

discuss killing Nolan, and decide to prank him

like in the books, but his sister

ends up walking into the trap instead of him,

and is later killed?

Oh wow. Intricate.

That's a really deep theory I like it.

Yeah it's pretty valid,

it makes sense. No matter what,

I think she should be a writer.

Yes! Yeah.

Ava and Nolan are secret lovers.

So to the eyes of the world,

Nolan and Caitlin are the perfect couple,

she's a senator's daughter so it's socially acceptable

and celebrated for them to be together.

But Ava, being the daughter of a criminal

and having a really dark background,

it's not accepted for them to be together

but Nolan loves her, and, she really loves him,

and they have this really beautiful relationship

where they kind of know each other like nobody else does,

I don't want to give away too much,

but a lot happens to Nolan and Ava.

Okay.

Twitter user, another_fan_account,

has a theory about what will happen to PLL's beloved Emison,

now that Allie has moved to Beacon Hights.

They love Emison. Okay okay.

This is not me saying this,

just to clarify. This is on the page!

Ew, Paily, I think what'll happen with Emison

is that Emily has decided to follow

in her father's footsteps and join the Army.

Pam is raising Lily and Grace,

and Allie has decided to move to Portland

to get her Master's and get more money,

so that their family is stable when Emily returns.

Wow. It's interesting.

What say you to that theory?

What say I?

[chuckling] yeah, say you?

I deny it.

[laughing]

No, I think that, to be honest,

I don't know the complete story.

I think Marlene has a lot of plans for Emison,

and she takes good care of Emison,

and so I think that you'll see interesting things

about this complicated relationship,

but what I can always say is that Ali loves Emily,

and her babies, very much.

And, despite the fact that she's moving away,

she's a very, very good mom.

And there's reasons behind this madness.

Pailey is the relationship name for Paige and Emily,

and there's been much debate, over who is better.

Yeah, it's been quite the journey of their relationships.

I mean, I prefer Emison because, you know.

You're a little biased. Obviously.

I'm a little biased yeah.

But, it is really fun when we're on set

because we also kind of debate between, who is better.

Okay, one Tumblr user, little lying perfectionist,

has a theory on why Mona is in Beacon Hights.

Does anyone else think that Mona's reasoning

for being in Beacon Heights is that she's there

working for Hotchkiss Industries?

Very interesting, I see why you would say this.

She doesn't always disclose full information,

sometimes she outright lies, and,

sometimes she, exaggerates. Sometimes!

I think in this case,

maybe it's a little bit in the middle.

We'll see.

I think that the fans will see

a little bit more of a humbled Mona,

but I think it's safe to assume that she will still be Mona,

she will still be mysterious, she will still be snarky, as--

Sassy.

As can be. And fabulous.

And fabulous, still kind of, you know--

Nutty. Five steps ahead.

Little nutty, yep.

She's still Mona. Just a little off.

But you'll see a little bit more of a subdued side to her.

Walking through campus in leather pants,

and like animal print heels. That's right, mm-hmm.

Love that.

Okay.

For me.

Little lying perfectionist has some hot takes

on character Nolan Hotchkiss. Hot takes!

Nolan Hotchkiss is our Alison 2.0.

He's gonna be the biggest and best manipulator.

Just like Allie was, pre her returning from the dead.

His parents are very successful,

and he does everything he can to attain,

by blackmailing and manipulating.

I think he's gonna be the show's first death.

Just like Allie's death,

was the set of the events of Pretty Little Liars.

First of all I love Nolan Hotchkiss's character,

Yeah.

Me too. And, he is--

He's definitely Allie 2.0.

He's definitely Allie 2.0. 100%.

You're so right about that. Very observant.

And, it's so much fun,

for me to see that. Master manipulator.

Yeah, because I almost miss that side of Alison,

as terrible as she was, she was so fun to play

because of all of the ridiculous things I got to say.

[laughing]

[Girl Trailing Behind] Hey guys!

Oh my God, can she freaking get a clue?

What a loser.

I'm really glad that I get to see that character

kind of come out again, because it's so fun to be around,

and I'm excited to see what Marlene does with his character,

season two people, hopefully. [knocking on wood]

Woo!

Yes. Yes.

Nolan is the first-- you were correct.

Yeah. Very good.

Nolan is the first death, and it's very similar.

And I think that's also what freaks Allie out.

It's because this feels so familiar,

and it feels like she's been through all of this before.

And here she is stuck in another little town,

with another murder, and I think both her and Mona

feel oddly responsible almost,

because they've been through this,

and they know what happens. And also like,

not this again.

Yeah, dammit!

No! Really?!

Alright.

Tumblr user, 00746602, thinks that people in Beacon Hights

will know Mona and Allie from their time in Rosewood.

Hmmm.

I feel like Allie being missing, presumed dead,

and then coming back to life--

Did you miss me?

Would be countrywide news, and for Mona as well

suspected to be killed and then also show up

after being tortured for months--

What?! Could add another dynamic

to their new lives in Oregon.

Ooh! Wow!

Wow. Yes, very insightful!

Really good.

Very very, insightful.

Very. [laughter]

Tumblr user 007-- This is amazing!

This is all before the show even airs.

Yeah that's like-- I love that!

They're so calculating! It really is amazing.

And I mean it-- Especially since,

so much is different from, the,

Perfectionists book series. Right!

Yeah! Right!

And also, yes!

Because-- Really clever.

Because there is a scene with you and Nolan,

where you kind of like-- Yes!

Like why does he know about my past,

it seems like he knows-- I get mad at you.

You know what?

Nevermind.

I didn't tell anyone.

Especially Nolan.

Yeah, and it's like I didn't tell him anything!

A few times! [laughing]

But like, with your theory I'm innocent, because,

they could totally Google you.

Uh-huh, you know what,

that is a really logical way

of thinking about it too. That's a really logical way

of thinking about it.

You're right. Especially in the same town,

like, we had some big weird things happening in Rosewood.

Yes, and it would've made the news!

Yeah! And it definitely would've

made the news.

Honestly, 0074

6602, 6602.

Good job.

Tumblr user lying little legend has a theory

on how the characters will cross paths with Allie.

Maybe instead of having the main group

share a film studies course

with Mr. Granger from the books,

the writers could switch it up

so that Alison would be teaching the class

that the perfectionists are all in together.

This could create an opportunity for Alison's character

to be involved in the show's mystery,

without necessarily playing a role

in the actual murder and potential threats.

Do you have some insider information?

Yeah this is way too close.

I can't wait to see what Marlene does,

her mind is so amazing, and there's always something.

Alright.

For Eli and Sydney, user lying little legend D.

Love it, I love it. Was yours little--

Lying little legend! Lying little legend

or lying little legend D?

I think that has to be the name

of our new group chat. I don't think it was

lying little legend D.

So, lying little legend D also has a theory

from watching the Perfectionists audition tapes

about what is going down

with the Hotchkiss family in Beacon Hights.

Eli, based off the audition tapes it looks like siblings,

Nolan and Taylor Hotchkiss are planning to take down

Hotchkiss Industries from the inside.

Caitlin Ava and Dylan, in addition to the majority

of the school, fear and resent Nolan for different reasons.

It seems as though Claire Hotchkiss or her husband

are aware of their children's plans

to take down the business.

If one of them were to intervene

in order to stop a take down from happening,

something in their plan could go awry,

and either Nolan or Taylor could be killed as a result.

Because the families strive on perfection

and maintaining a perfect image, their primary motivation

after this would be to cover up their own tracks.

This could pave way for a suspicion to be cast

on other people, such as the main group,

who actually wanted to see Nolan get killed...

Wow.

Well...

Like Sofia's character, me and Nolan

have a great relationship.

Or Nolan and I have a great relationship,

we are also secret lovers.

No you're not!

Yes they are! I mean we're not lovers,

but we're secret-- He's a secret lover!

You have a secret love. You have a secret love

on your hands!

Yeah, secret passionate...

Yeah. Right.

Thing.

And so now he has some dirt on me...

And it's complicated.

It's definitely a possibility to be honest,

not quite sure yet, we'll see.

We'll see, but that is really really good.

I like that.

Marlene should read this!

User lying little perfectionist has thoughts

on the character Caitlin Park-Lewis.

Caitlin Park-Lewis is our Spencer Hastings 2.0.

Yes, definitely!

Good job!

She's extremely smart and witty

and is probably a part of every club possible,

her parents are extreme perfectionists,

Yes.

Which is why she had so much pressure to herself.

I believe her character will be dating Nolan,

but there's probably more than what meets the eye.

Ahh! Know what I just realized?

Huh?

I just realized that,

Spencer's parents had an affair--

Right.

And so was your mommy,

being naughty. So there's my mom--

I guess two moms don't always make a right.

Two moms don't always make a right.

Oh nice job!

Yeah.

I always thought, yeah, Spencer, a little bit of Emily,

is sporty but overachieving.

Yeah, she's like a mix of them.

Really really hard on herself,

but yeah definitely, Nolan is really manipulative,

and I think at one point they were in love,

and they did have a good relationship,

and then she started to see the more dark sides of Nolan,

and this nasty side, and it came out

when all this power play sort of happened in their lives,

as they got older, so yeah you're right!

That's good. Yeah, good.

That's what I loved about our OG Pretty Little Liars fans,

was that they were little detectives,

Mm-hmm!

They were so passionate about it,

just like we are, and I feel that

with us already. And loyal!

Absolutely!

I love that the fans have been loyal to the PLL family,

and just to be a part of this

with you guys, like-- They care a lot

about the PLL world, they take good care of it.

We feel the love!

Yes! We do feel the love.

Don't forget to tune in to our show,

and see if any of your fan theories came true.

[shushing]

I wanted to do two hands.

[laughing] [shushing]

I like that one.
